If you know me at all, you know that I have always been a huge color-lover!! For a few years in my early twenties, I didn’t buy as many clothes with a bunch of different colors and patterns. I stuck to more neutrals… until I finally realized that neutral just doesn’t fit me! I am a color-lover through and through! Neutrals don’t give me any kind of sparkle, they don’t fire me up and make me happy like colorful patterns and different textures do! And yes, I still wear black and other neutral colors, but I definitely am drawn to colors way more! So, instead of trying to blend in and buy neutral clothing, I was like, “Who cares?! This is me and I’m fine with that!” It was so freeing when I made this choice to just go with what I love, instead of wearing what everyone else was wearing! You don’t know how many times, when I was in school I would try an outfit on before bed and lay it out for morning… and then in the morning I would chicken out to wear it. On went the jeans and t-shirt instead. Why?! Lack of confidence I suppose… but man does it feel GOOD when you are comfortable to wear whatever you like, and not worry about if someone else will like it or not!

My love of color is not just in my clothing, it’s in everything in my life. I LOVE colorful home decor! So, I thought I would put up some pictures of some color that is peppered throughout my house! Every time I see a pretty spot in my house with a bunch of fun colors, it is sure to bring a smile to my face! I can’t wait to share some room reveals with you guys- the only thing is, I have a bunch of rooms in my house that are like 85% finished… So, with that being said, I have a question for you guys and I would absolutely LOVE it if you would help me out here! I am trying to figure out which room I should get done first! So the big question for you is:

    1. the kids bedroom (needs headboard for Vernon, trim touched up, windows painted, some shelving and decor)
    2. the upstairs bathroom (still needs a vanity, paint, trim and decor)
    3. the downstairs bathroom (mostly finished, have to touch up some paint and caulk)

I have a bunch of things for these rooms already, just need to paint certain pieces or revamp them in some way. I do need to buy a few things too! So, what do you guys think? Tell me which room you would be MOST excited to see me post on here next! Thank you for your help! I’m excited to see what you guys pick, so I can get started on it!! Have a happy Monday everyone!

  • A BIG GOAL FOR 2018!

Happy New Year everyone!! I know it’s a little late but that’s okay! I wanted to write a little post of one of my most important goals for this year! I have always been into writing down goals and if I don’t write something down I tend to forget it! I am not super organized, so I have multiple goal lists written in probably like 9 different notebooks, scattered all over my house! Anyways, I have a whole bunch of goals for 2018 but I don’t want to share them all with you, but I will talk about one of my main ones for this year!

So, I have been married for over 4 years now and have never gotten on any kind of schedule for making dinner. Many nights a week I have absolutely no clue what we are going to eat so I am scrambling at 4:30 trying to figure something out before my husband calls to say he is on his way home and ask “What’s for dinner?” This one thing has made me feel like a terrible wife many times over! I always have big plans on starting up some kind of meal schedule… and then it doesn’t happen. So, the nights when we have nothing to eat.. sometimes we end up getting fast food or pizza. This adds up after awhile- it isn’t cheap to eat out, even if it is fast food and also it’s not very healthy. So.. I decided this year I am going to write a list of a bunch of dinners and go and do my grocery shopping and get ALL the ingredients for each meal. I started this and so far it has been working!! If I am feeling lazy I tell myself, “I have to make these dinners because if I don’t, a bunch of these fresh veggies are going to go old!” And that seems so wasteful!

It’s actually been a lot of fun- and my husband is pretty excited when there is dinner on the table every night! 😉 I found some new, healthy recipes on Pinterest and it makes me feel like I am some kind of big time chef or something! HaHa!! Some of the recipes, like soups, I just double the recipe and then I throw a bunch in the freezer for another night! I have always liked healthy food and I start to feel really crappy if I don’t get my veggies in after a while. I’m sure a lot of you have already figured this whole meal schedule thing out and are cooking all the time, and I admire you for that! But.. if you are like me, give this a try and see how it works out for you! I will link some of the recipes I have used so far, down below!

One Pan Roasted Lemon Pepper Salmon & Garlic Parmesan Asparagus | Cooking Classy

Turkey, Kale & Rice Soup | Yellow Bliss Road

I am trying this one tonight!! Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Spaghetti Squash | The Real Food Dietitians

If you have other great recipes that you think I would like, link them in the comments below or DM me on Instagram! Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you all reach some of your goals this year- and if not that’s okay too! As long as you are happy, healthy and having fun!!

I wanted to write a little post to let you guys all know a bit more about me!

    1. My ancestors were from Finland and Sweden. I took a year of Finnish in high school.. but didn’t pay attention as much as I should have.. I would love to visit both of those countries someday!
    2. I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but I have been LOVING peppermint mocha’s lately! I actually got hooked on them last year, when McDonald’s had them for the holidays! I’ve been making many trips to McDonald’s drive thru- and I’m super bummed that the end is coming, until next year.. also, coffee makes me kind of jittery so often times I regret it after the fact!
    3. A quote that fits me perfectly is: “Somedays I go to the gym and eat salads, and other days I eat cupcakes and refuse to put on pants! It’s called balance!”
    4. I used to dread winter, but now I absolutely LOVE it!! I like to skate ski and it makes our long, Michigan winters fly by! Also, how can you not think a forest, blanketed in snow isn’t magical?!
    5. My whole life I have been a perfectionist… but it has gotten me NO.WHERE. Starting in 4th grade I started getting terrible headaches about 3 times a week and they continued all the way into my senior year of high school. I finally realized that stress and tension were causing them. Finally I made the decision to let myself go with the flow a little more! And now to this day, every time I get a headache it’s because I’m trying to do too much, trying to make things too perfect, stressing too much over cleaning, stressing over something that’s not in my control, etc. So.. my house flies and I fly by the seat of my pants, but it is WAY THE HECK BETTER than HEADACHES! You win some, you lose some! When I start spending too much time on something, I have to remind myself, “Progress over perfection Hannah!”
    6. I have 3 sisters and 4 brothers and I love it! It’s so much fun to have a big family! Having 3 sisters is the best because they are all so unique in their own way, yet so alike too! I love when we are all together, but I really cherish one on one time too!
    7. I would LOVE to live in the city!!! Temporarily tho- I love where I live now, but always think it would be fun to live in the hustle and bustle for a few years! I have lived in Scottsdale, AZ, Minneapolis, MN and Milwaukee, WI for short periods of time and it was so much fun! My husband is not much for the city tho.. so it may always be a dream!
    8. I am kind of an old soul in some ways- I love old country music, I am always behind the times with technology and often times I find it easier to make new friends that are older and wiser than me! I didn’t always relate to girls my own age (besides my close group of friends, which are the BEST!!!) because there was too much drama and stuff that seemed piddly and just didn’t interest me. I didn’t think I was better than them, actually it was the opposite, I never felt like I was cool enough for a lot of girls! And I didn’t like pretending and trying to fit in when that’s not who I am. I also prefer stainless steel pots over non-stick any day!! Haha! I do like non-stick frying pans tho! So random, I know!
    9. I love to bake.. but I don’t do much of it because I have no willpower to not eat ALL of it afterwards!
    10. My first car that I owned was a 1993, baby blue, Ford Tempo! It is still one of my all time favorites!! I could go anywhere in the winter with it, and to this day I have not had a car that was as good as that beast in the snow!
    11. I’ve been buying books just for the color of their spine, for home decor! I most likely won’t ever read them.
    12. I love to sing! If you ever stop over without giving me a heads up, you may walk in on me belting out a song! My dad always sang in our house growing up and it’s one of my favorite things about him!
    13. 13 is my favorite number!!

Let me know your thoughts! Should I do more of these posts? Any questions? Have a lovely day and thank you for reading!

BLUE SWEATER (similiar: onetwothree-same one, plus sized, four)| BUFFALO CHECK VEST (same, but from different seller: here) | JEANS (similar: onetwothree)| FLORAL BOOTIES (similar: onetwothreefour)

I made a quick shopping trip to Marquette yesterday and it was so much fun! I took both of my kids and they did surprisingly well all day! Of course I wasn’t able to do clothes shopping at all.. that doesn’t work the best when you have 2 kiddos to entertain and you’re trying on clothes in a tiny, little stall. CATASTROPHE! Ha! We went to a cute, little place for lunch called Babycakes Muffin Co. They had the. best. soup. ever! It was a sausage lentil soup with veggies. I loved it and so did both of my kids! I would love to try to make something similar for dinner some night. I pinned a recipe on Pinterest so I’m hoping that it will be just as good! I have never used lentils in cooking, but I would love to start. It’s always fun to try new foods! I found a few little sparkly pink and gold bottle brush trees from Target to add to my Christmas decor. I also found a few other things but I will show you those hopefully soon, when I get at least one room finished over here. I have so many rooms in my house that are half done.. anyone else?? Or is it just me? Soon, I promise!!

Alright! Let’s talk about this outfit! I am always mixing prints and patterns whether it’s in my own outfits, my kids outfits or in home decor! It’s fun to try things out to see what works! Sometimes I find new combinations that I wouldn’t have even thought of just by experimenting a little! I am loving this outfit right now- especially those floral booties, oh, and the jeans and the sweater!! The buffalo check vest is a couple years old but everything else is new from Charlotte Russe! I’m so bummed because I just checked the other day and they had all of these in stock- but now they are out of every single one of these items, but I linked some really great similar products above! I needed a new pair of jeans so I picked out a high waisted pair from from Charlotte Russe and I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love them! I don’t feel like my rear is falling out, they hold my belly in and they are super trendy with the little distressed bottoms! I wore them to our Thanksgiving dinner and my aunt was wondering if I actually bought them like that?! I was like, well of course- that’s the style! Haha! Both of my Grandma’s always comment every time they see me wearing ripped jeans, “You mean you actually paid money for those? Are you serious? Do your legs get cold? You look cute.. besides for the pants. Should we take up a collection for her?!” Haha! That’s just the way it goes- I don’t expect them to understand! What can I say, a heart wants what a heart wants, even if that means paying for denim that has already been destroyed a bit.. or quite a bit! Anyways, all that matters is that I love them and I am comfortable in them! That blue sweater is the the perfect shade of dusty but still a little bit bright! I love how it’s on the bigger side! It makes it really comfy and flattering.. if you know what I mean? And those floral boots are so fun! They are definitely a statement piece, but still subtle enough to wear them with a casual outfit. I am loving the embroidered trend right now- are you? My sister got a pair of white tennis shoes with embroidered roses on them and we both love them.. but our other two sisters, not so much. That’s okay tho! We are each different in our own little ways and I love that! How boring would the world be if everyone liked ALL the same things?? I hope to inspire you to add some new, fun pieces to your wardrobe, but obviously every outfit might not be your cup of tea, and that’s okay too!

Hope you all have a lovely day and thank you so much for reading! It means the world to me to that you take the time out of your day and come over here and read what I have to say! So thanks again!

LEOPARD PRINT COAT (similar: onetwothreefour, five)| SUEDE DRESS (similar: onetwo) | TIGHTS (similar: onetwo) | BLACK BOOTIES (similar: onetwothree)

EEEK! My first fashion post!!! This has definitely given me quite the butterflies- but happy and fun butterflies mixed with a little bit of nerves! I have never been super photogenic.. so I don’t feel like I have a ton of pictures of myself, and I’m not super natural at striking a pose. I had my younger sister giving me pointers because I couldn’t see what I looked like! Haha! I love fashion tho, so here goes! Sometimes you have to experience a little bit of discomfort in order to grow!

These were taken on a cold and windy day, which I’m sure you can tell from the photos, I am not good at hiding much! Anyways, I am a huge fan of leopard print! It’s so fun, yet so trendy and timeless at the same time. I love to wear this coat to church in the winter. It’s fun to mix it up instead of a plain black church coat. Plus- it is faux fur!! I LOVE anything fur too- so double perfection! You could totally wear this coat out and about too if you wanted! I paired the leopard print coat with a camel color suede dress (that is sooooo comfy), dark green tights, and a pair of black suede booties. I have had the black booties since last year and they have definitely been a staple in my wardrobe, they look cute with everything! Also, they aren’t too high to still carry my kids in!

Let me know in the comments below if you are a leopard print fan! And if you’re not… I challenge you to try it out, whether it’s a pair of shoes/boots, a purse, a hair scrunchie, a sweater, or a full out FAUX FUR LEOPARD PRINT COAT! Whoa, that was a mouthful! But really tho, it just adds a little bit of fun and polish to your outfit!

Hope you have a fabulous day!

I haven’t written anything in a while because I’m having a few roadblocks. First, the only camera that I own is my phone, sooooooo.. it doesn’t take the best indoor pictures, which is kinda a big deal! If your pictures are crap, then it’s hard to show what the space/project actually looks like. Number 2: I have an Acer chromebook. I got it less than a year ago but the lighting on it isn’t the best. It makes it super challenging to edit pictures. So, I need to save up in order to upgrade both of these things, but I would love some feedback from you guys (while I start adding to my piggy bank-haha!)! I need some recommendations! Should I get a nicer phone that has an awesome camera? Should I get a DSLR camera, even though I know NOTHING about taking pictures? Should I hire my indoor photos out? What kind of laptops are super great for editing? I would LOVE LOVE LOVE all your help and feedback! Leave your thoughts and recommendations below or comment on my instagram post!

P.S.  This picture has nothing to do with my post, but isn’t it so pretty?! I hope someday to go back- because it was so amazing and I have never seen water this blue before my honeymoon! Also, warm pictures help the mind when it’s freezing and 30 mile an hour winds outside!

We still have snow sooooo.. I had to post some snowy pics from a couple years ago! Hope it’s not too early for all these snow pics! Haha!

The other day I was watching some Pentatonix Christmas music videos on Youtube and I forgot how talented they are!! Seriously- how do they make all that music with no instruments?! It blows my mind! I love their Christmas songs, they are so pretty I honestly get emotional listening to some of them because they are so beautiful!

I went to the gym again this morning and it feels so, so good! I’m so excited to get back into the groove of working out again!

Hope you all have a great day!

Hello! I am so excited to share these pics of my favorite chair with you today!! I have always called it my seashell chair because of the channel back and the pink color of the fabric. I have had this chair for a very long time, and I always intended to reupholster it. Well… I never got around to it, so recently I had it done at an upholstery shop. I am so pumped with the way it turned out! Can you believe it’s the same chair?! It looks so pretty in my living room! Now I have the bug to have more of my furniture done, but I think I am going to attempt a couple pieces on my own and I’ll share them with you when they are finished!

If you have ever had any cool furniture reupholstered I would love to see it! #oldfurnitureisbetterthannew

Happy winter!! When the snow started falling yesterday, Vernon (my 3 year old) said, “YAY! IT’S WINTER!!” I love our winters, although at times they can get long so I always hope for a really long and beautiful fall. We had an absolutely gorgeous fall this year, and now I feel like I’m ready for the snow.. although it’s probably not here to stay quite yet! All this snow makes me feel so cozy- think a mug of hot chocolate, wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket and listening to Christmas music! Yes, we have had the Christmas tunes on already! Vernon keeps asking if it’s Christmas yet?

Vernon is pretty excited for Halloween, he loves to run around all day in his costume! We bought a little spider web with spiders the other day and we have some mini pumpkins on the table, that’s about the extent of our decor this year. I would love to go all out decorating for the holidays, but we have had a super busy fall so maybe next year! I have loved to decorate since I was really young. I was always the one making decorations out of construction paper and taping them to the windows.. I’m sure they looked beautiful! 😉 I always feel so excited with the holidays- must just be the inner-kid in me!

Two days ago I signed up for a gym membership and have gone 3 days in a row! It feels so amazing to get back into it, and I am super sore! It was a cardio day for me today. I did an interval workout on the treadmill- I forgot how challenging those are!! I love them because I feel like the time goes by a lot faster than if you’re just running one pace the whole time! It’s good to mix it up too!

    Happy Saturday everyone!

I have thought about this for a VERY LONG time. I have gone back and forth in my head, “should I do it, should I not?” a million times! Finally I have decided to go ahead and just have fun with this! So here I am, writing my first EVER blog post!! I have daily doses of inspiration from life, my own home, Pinterest, magazines, blogs, etc… but, I have all these ideas in my head that keep me up at night because my brain just won’t shut off! So, with that being said, I would love to share some of these ideas and dreams with you and hope you will join me on this ride!

I am super passionate about decorating spaces! I think that everyone should have a space that they absolutely love and that feels 100% theirs! I am drawn to all sorts of styles, but what makes my heart sing are bright, happy colors, patterns, textures, white backdrops, amazing furniture, fur, the color pink, and anything feminine! And then there is the more calm side of me that is loving the all white with shades of blue, maybe a little green and wood tones. There are so many other styles that I love and would love to see your projects or help you out if you need some styling advice!

I am currently living in an old house that my husband and I started remodeling 4 years ago, just after we got back from our honeymoon. It has been challenging at times (because fixer uppers are a lot of work!!) but has been so much fun and so rewarding to make it ours! Sadly, I lost all of my before pictures of the house… but trust me, it was TERRIBLE!!! Some days I look around and can’t believe that this is the same house I moved into on my wedding day- I mean, DRASTIC CHANGES!

I am also a huge fan of fashion! I love to dress up and try new, fun outfits! Some people may think that fashion is lame or pointless, or even conceited or boastful.. but to me it’s a lot of fun! I think it helps you express the way that you are feeling and who you are by the things that you wear. The biggest reason why I love fashion is if you’re wearing something you love and it makes you feel confident, then you can do anything you put your mind to! You can be exactly who you are without feeling insecure! I think confidence is so huge in living the life you want and being you! Don’t get me wrong, I believe that there is a lot more to life than fashion and frivolous things. Buuuttt… why not have some fun in your life?! Do what you love, not what everyone else wants for you! If you are doing what someone else wants you to do, you will never be happy! Go and live! Don’t be too serious!

Okay, so what else might you see on this blog?! I am a huge fan of sweets, fitness (those 2 don’t really go hand in hand, I know), my husband and 2 little munchkins and life! You may see a little of everything!

    Hope you will follow along!
